New Affordable Living in Hunts Point
The Peninsula complex is a transformational multi-phase development replacing the former Spofford Juvenile Detention Facility with a vibrant, mixed-use truly affordable residential housing, a health and wellness center, child care, artisanal food manufacturing, fresh food grocer, retail, arts and open space for the Hunts Point and larger South Bronx Community.
The four mixed-use residential buildings upon completion will provide 740 affordable apartments, with at least 10 percent reserved for the formerly homeless. Reflective of an inclusive Hunts Point neighborhood, the apartments will follow the mixed-income model to ensure that no one is left behind, housing very low, low and moderate-income individuals and families.
